Who is Bogdan Tiganov and what does he want?

 

 

I am a writer with a definite vision - every work I put together should have purpose and I refuse, can’t and won’t write something for the sake of simply writing or to feel accepted.

 

I write prose, poetry, scripts, articles, reviews and have been doing so for the best part of two decades. At the same time, I am trying to create a link between what I do and Romanian culture.  Although East European literature and the arts is generally ignored in the West (with exceptions such as Kafka, Brâncuşi or Milan Kundera) one of my aims is to open up the experience floodgates.  I have found great literature and art in the attitude of Romanian people, in their paralysis; stuck between the old, stable world and the new, wild opportunism.  Furthermore, there is a sense of freedom in certain areas in how people express themselves.  They create art without knowing, without needing to advertise it.

 

I am a writer with a strong sense of justice.  I want the opportunity to show my creativity in the same light as everybody else, no matter where I’m from.  The purpose of this website is to bring together the different strands of what I do so that people don’t have to scour the net for me and I will continue to update these pages with more and more relevant content.
